Maintaining Realness in a Remote-First World

By Morgan PR · February 8, 2026 · 4 min read

When Definitely Real Company went remote-first in 2025, we faced a challenge: how do you maintain authenticity when your team is spread across 47 time zones?

Virtual trust-building

We instituted weekly "Realness Standups" where team members share one thing that made them feel legitimate that week. Examples include: closing a deal, getting a positive Slack reaction, or successfully joining a Zoom call on the first try.

Digital headquarters

We built a virtual HQ in a tool we can't name for legal reasons. It has meeting rooms, a coffee shop, and a conference room labeled "Suite Real." Morale improved 47%.

The results

Our remote-first culture hasn't diminished our realness — if anything, it's enhanced it. We're proof that you don't need a physical office to be a definitely real company.
